As you may have heard, Bob Baker had to close it’s doors rather suddenly, which was the last thing in the world they wanted as they have been in business since 1962 and they always have and always will care about their clients and team. Christine Parker (Bob Baker’s daughter) has asked us (Fixed Right & Guaranteed, LLC) to take care of their clients as well as any of their team members that we can going forward to the best of our ability. We have acquired their phone number and accepted that request and will be working really hard to be able to take care of you and your family going forward. We have been very blessed and fortunate to win the Best HVAC Company and the Best Place To Work in Southern Maryland for the last 3 years in a row. We will be sending you more information over the next week or so, but we wanted to at least reach out to let you know that we will be here and do everything we can to help you and all of Bob Baker’s clients with this transition. Here are a few questions and answers that I know will be very important to most of you.
#1) Who will be coming to my home?
At Fixed Right & Guaranteed, we are very protective of who we bring on our team because of our great company culture and reputation. We do extensive criminal background testing as well as drug testing. We hire great human beings and teach any technical areas that need to be fine tuned. We can’t teach people to be great human beings, so that is the most important thing we look for. We can and do teach everything else needed to make SuperTechs. I, Roy White was the Senior Mechanical Inspector at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center from 2014-2018 and have been in the industry for over 33 years. Our Operations Manager, Neil Farnese used to teach the HVAC program at the College Of Southern Maryland and Neil is the sharpest technical guy as well as one of the greatest human beings that I have ever met. Neil has been in the industry for 35 years and has a stellar reputation as well. Please feel free to watch this recent podcast where I interviewed Neil and you will see what I mean. #2) Is Fixed Right & Guaranteed taking over all of the assets and liabilities of Bob Baker’s Golden Service?
We are not. We will do our absolute best to take care of each and every Bob Baker client and team member that we can though. We did not purchase the company and have zero financial ties to Bob Baker’s Golden Service. We are just going to do our best to take care of you and your family moving forward. Christine Parker was kind enough to turn over their phone number so that you would have someone to count on moving forward rather than end up with a company who cuts corners or does not have the client’s best interest in mind. I am sure there will be plenty of people disappointed that Bob Baker’s Golden Service had to close, but please know that Christine Parker and her team are even more devastated. This economy and the challenging times ahead will unfortunately take down many more companies in the future. The reality is that 96% of businesses fail within 10 years, so I commend the entire team at Bob Baker’s Golden Service who served their community very well for 62 years. As a very young business owner in the mid to late 90’s I remember Bob Baker being a very genuine and helpful man and friendly competitor. I served on the board of ACCA at that time and Mr Baker was very friendly and helpful every time I saw him.
#3) What happens to the service contract/warranty that I have with Bob Baker’s Golden Service?
At Fixed Right & Guaranteed, LLC, we have Club Memberships (which most companies call Service Contracts/Agreements) that provide a 20% discount on our Diagnostic Fee in addition to a 20% discount on Repairs plus many other benefits we will share in future communications. For any of you that have a service contract in place we will extend that 20% discount to you on your first Service Call or Tune Up just as we do our current Fixed Right & Guaranteed Club Members. This is our way of helping you during this transition and our hope for you to give us a try and make sure we live up to our reputation as the Best HVAC Company. Our team will work extremely hard to earn your trust and build a relationship moving forward.
4) What should I do now?
Please give us a call this week to schedule your Winter Tune Up, Duct Cleaning, Free System Replacement Estimate, Air Purification, and/or any other Indoor Air Quality needs.
